The latest updates to the Stark laws introduced several significant changes which expanded the regulations and created new risks for hospital compliance. Further compounding the risk of regulatory sanctions, HHS has recently announced its heightened focus on fraud prevention with the creation of the Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Action Team (HEAT). Now, more than ever, hospitals need to ensure that they are in compliance with the latest regulations.
Join us for a free webinar with expert attorneys Gadi Weinreich and Lisa Ohrin (who was one of the principal drafters of the Stark II Phase III regulations and subsequent revisions). During the webinar, attendees will learn about the following:
-
Key changes to physician self-referral rules including the new definition of DHS entities, percentage-based compensation, per-click compensation, and stand in the shoes
-
Considerations for restructuring physician ventures
-
Common mistakes that can trigger compliance violations and sanctions
-
Recommended options for avoiding compliance violations and minimizing risks
-
Illustrative examples will be used to highlight the considerations and options
