David Keating is a corporate partner and a member of the Technology practice of Alston & Bird LLP. He is also a Co-Leader of the firm's Privacy and Security Practice, which has been rated one of the leading practices in the nation by Chambers and Partners. He maintains an active data privacy and security practice and advises global and U.S. enterprises on compliance with privacy and security laws in the United States, the European Union, Canada, the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America.
Mr. Keating is a frequent speaker on privacy and information security topics. He received his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from Emory University School of Law in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in 1991 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. He is a past President of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers and a member of the Technology Association of Georgia and the Leadership DeKalb Class of 1998. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Georgia.
