About the Presenter

David Keating is a corporate partner and a member of the Sourcing and Technology Practice at Alston & Bird LLP, and co-leads the firm's Privacy and Security Practice. His practice includes complex sourcing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances, software system integration and cloud computing/application service provider transactions, health information technology, and information technology procurement and distribution. He also maintains an active data privacy and security practice focused on developing and implementing strategic compliance initiatives and on enabling critical transactions that raise complex privacy and security issues. He is listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Mr. Keating is a frequent writer and speaker on topics involving outsourcing, privacy and data security, and corporate transactions. He received his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from Emory University School of Law in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in 1991 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Business & Technology Alliance and Executive Committee of the Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. He is a past President of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers and a member of the Leadership DeKalb Class of 1998. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Georgia.
